Holy frost bite Cedar Rapids!!! It was a cccoollddd weekend!!  Even though it was a typical COLD Iowa winter weekend, Chongo and Mongo made it to a total of 10 shows again this weekend.  They covered a lot of different types of music again, from Terry McCauley at Daniel Arthurs to Funk 101 at the Chrome Horse. From Cornfed Bruiser at Third Street Live to Super Size Seven at Cocktails and Company.  Rock and roll to Regae, they saw it all.   I hope everyone else enjoyed the bands as much as Chongo and Mongo did!!
Chongo and Mongo had another fun weekend out chasing down the live music in the Cedar Rapids area.  They started Wednesday Night this last week with Daddy-O and DJ(AKA McMurrin and Johnson) at the Next Door and Jeff Bruner(AKA Jeff Bruner at Sammy's Lounge.  Then Friday Night Chongo did all of the chasing Billy 'n Me at City Beat, Jack Knife at Rumors and Pretend Rockstar at Fifth Gear, with Mongo nursing a cold at home(No not a cold nurse at home). Saturday Night Mongo was out again with 5 Of Hearts at Fifth Gear, 4BOXOROCKS at Chappy's and the Gibbs Brothers Band at the Chrome Horse.

It was a very busy week this last week. Chongo and Mongo had another record setting fun weekend out chasing down the live music in the Cedar Rapids area.  16 shows in all!!! They started Wednesday Night this last week with Billy 'n Me at the Next Door for Valentine's Day and Josh Misner at Cocktails and Company on Thursday Night. 

Then Friday Night Chongo Started at Rumors for Unkown Highway and then meet Mongo at Coopacaban's for Pretend Rockstar before he finished the night with Lickity Split at Fifth Gear. Mongo started Friday Night at Java Creek Cafe with Billy Heller then went over to Scarlet Runner playing at Cocktails and Company. He then met up with Chongo at Coopacabana's before finishing the night with Funk Daddies at the Chrome Horse.

Saturday Night Mongo was out with 5 Of Hearts at Rumors, Terry McCauley at Daniel Arthur's, Full Circle at Next Door and finished the night with Wheeland the Fence and Sarah Cram w/ the Love Drops at Tornado's. Chongo wen to All But Screaming at Cocktails and Company and then slid over to Dumas's to see the Trux and finished the night with the Tornadoes at the Chrome Horse.

This coming weekend Mongo is going to be out of town, but Chongo will be out in full force!!  As always, check out the Calendar At LARGE link to find out where your favorite groups are at!!
